Old Street Hostel In Huangshan City (Tunxi)

With a second floor balcony overlooking Huangshan City’s (Tunxi) picturesque old street, cheap clean rooms and great staff, the Old Street Hostel is the best place to stay in Huangshan City.

Location & Getting There
The Old Street Hostel is not far from the train station and the taxi fare is only around 8rmb. You can also take the number 12 bus from the train station and get off at the Old Street stop and walk 2-3 minutes to the hostel.

Rates, bookings and availability
The price for a four bed dorm with a separate toilet and shower is 40rmb during the off season and 50rmb during the peak season.  Private rooms range in price from 140rmb to 200rmb. Finding beds and rooms is not normally a problem even in summer but best to book in advance if you plan on staying over the weekend.

Rooms & facilities
The rooms are basic, clean and comfortable, and located on the second and third floors of the hostel. The combination lounge/bar/restaurant is excellent with a number of large tables and comfortable couches for relaxing after a hard day climbing Huangshan. There is a small net bar off the lobby on the first floor and wifi throughout the hostel.

The highlight of the hostel is a balcony off the bar/restaurant that over looks Old Street with great views. Ideal for chilling out and having a beer while watching tourist stroll up and down Old street.

Staff
The hostel is fairly small and the staff are relaxed, friendly and very helpful. They can arrange buses up to Tangkou (base of Huangshan), tours of nearby small villages and give good travel advice. They can also arrange reservations for accommodation on the mountain for around 80 to 100rmb a night.
